Takeda Shuhei also called Minsan is born in 1772, he is the 11th son of the Samurai Himeji. In 1814 he came back to the Han and learned under Lord Maeda. Then under Shikarahiro he learned detailed painting. He was very capable also at sculpture and painting.

In 1822, he restarted the Kasugayama kiln which had stopped in 1818 and made mainly white pottery.

He built later a nishiki kiln in his own house in the City of Satomi and made gold paint on red design. After he started Hachirode style similar to Iidaya Hachirouemon.

In 1844, Takeda died at the age of 72. The kiln was then closed down.

Minsan pottery have a body of a pale yellow color. This is due to the pottery technic which was good but firing temperature was too low and most of the pieces are what we call in Europe half porcelain.Regarding painting they are mainly akae, saimitsu and hiroe.

Concerning their identification, these pottery are just marked Minsan or Minsan inside a double square.
