This is a very popular style common to almost all Japanese kilns. This technique was first imported from China and developped in Arita. Then Kutani potters also started to produce underglaze blue. It is still very popular today. Some Kutani kilns such as Suda Seika (4th generation) are today very famous for their underglaze blue.
