This is a most famous of all Kutani styles. The original wares were produced around 1700 to 1750, (dates are unclear) however the manufacturing place is subject to many controversies and recent investigations suggest that these wares have been produced in several kilns located in Imari. Original Ko-Kutani style pieces are very rare and can only be found today in Museums. As for Yoshidaya, Ko-Kutani style has been copied without any limitation by every painter until today.
