Jizen Shoten 1884-today
Jisen Zenkichi (1850 - 1922) was the 2nd son of Taniguchi Isojiro from Sakaedani,
he was also the brother of Kitade Uyomon from Kitade gama.
He had been adopted by Jizen family. In 1884 he established Jizen Shoten in
Yamashiro village in Enuma-gun. He installed painters in his own home and bought
white pottery from Kitade gama, Matsuda gama, Tono gama from Chokushi and produced
mainly Imari style pottery. At that time Yamashiro was a remote area and sale
was not easy even to tourist coming to the thermal sources, so he has to find
a way to sale to other place in japan and succeeded in selling pottery to Kanto
and Kansai area.
Jizen Tamekichi (1877 - 1927) is the son of Zenkichi, he changed the name of
the shop to Jizen Seibido. The business was quite good and the shop always employed
about 20 painters still working at his house. The most famous painters were:

- Omi Shojiro Imari copy, kakiyemon style
- Tani Shokei red detailed paint
- Shimatani Seiji iroe Imari copy
- Tank Kihachi Imari style
- Yoshida Yozaemon Imari copy red detailed painting
