KUTANI POTTER'S HISTORY

You have here a detailled history of the most famous Kutani potters and painters. I have concentrated my research on painters and potters from the origin up to Taisho period.

However I have included the most well known modern potters. I am always ready to put additional painter on the list if I get the proper data.

Of course the history of potters is closely linked with the kilns history where most of these potters and painters were employed. Also some of the most famous painters have been working in several kilns over a period of time or in some cases at the same time.
