Kitade Uyomon 1853-1928
Kitade Uyomon is the 3rd son of Taniguchi. He started to learn pottery at Matsuyama
kiln when he was 10 years old.
He was adopted by Kitade family, but it is not clear exactly when this happened.
When he was 15 years old he opened Kitade kiln in 1868 in Sakaedani village. He
started to manufacture white pottery, then some-tsuke and enamel overglaze.
In 1898 he had 14 employees which increased up to 40 around 1910.
