Nakajima Hideo is born in 1906. He learned pottery painting from Adashi Tozen, Kitade Tojiro and Tomimoto Kenkichi. In 1936 he entered for the first time the Ishikawa ken modern art association exhibition. He used Jusan (寿山) as a potter name. He participated in Nitten Exhibition in 1962.

He was awarded at the 10th Kutani new collection exhibition in1972.
He was granted by Ishikawa Prefecture the title of living cultural treasure in 1981.
