Hamasaka Futo 1882-1928
Hamasaka Futo is born on 23 August 1882 in Yamashiro. He learned first from his
father Hamasaka Seigoro who was pottery manager at Kutani Tokikaisha. Futo liked
very much overglaze painting.
He also learned from the first Nakamura Shuto pottery. He then settled in Yamashiro
ans specialized in detailed red painting. He died at 47 years old in 1928. His
son born in 1911 became the second Futo.
